50 fat dates50 Fat Dates follows my quest to find Big Curvy Love (girlfriend’s in her thirties and looking for a man…don’t judge.)  I’ve challenged myself to go on 50 dates over the course of  one year and share my dating stories, plus size dating tips and lessons learned. If this is your first visit make sure to catch up!~Kelly

It’s been a tough week in Big Curvy Love land. My ex boyfriend’s daughter graduated from high school which gave me some serious food for thought. I’ve inadvertently waged an office war due to microwaved salmon and I’m still recovering from a disastrous date #2 on my 50 Fat Dates quest. While I was cursing Netflix for not working on Orange is the New Black season 2 release day I got this message in my ‘other’ Facebook inbox:

Hi Kelly,

Sorry for the impersonal introduction, my name is Drew and I’m a reader and fan of your blog. Anyway, I was laughing out loud at your description of date #2- I’ve so been there- and I was wondering if maybe, if we talk a little and you like the idea, I could take you out for a date that’s a little more fun (and less awkward!) than date #2 was.

I promise I don’t live with any family members, play any fictional sports from the Harry Potter books, and I won’t be applying for any dish washing gigs because I have a career-track job that I love. I really enjoy reading about your adventures and hearing about your perspectives, and I think you would be a fun person to get to know.

If you’re so inclined, feel free to write back or shoot me an email. Hope your weekend is fun!

-Drew

So my Big Curvy Lovers, it took a lot of guts for this guy  to email me and offer to be date #3. I’ve checked his Facebook (no activity since January,) Twitter hasn’t seen action since 2009 but his Linked In looks current. Am I being cat fished or is this a genuine attempt from a good guy to get a date and show a big girl a good time? I’m hoping its the latter! He obviously knows I’m a mouthy plus size blogger and will write about the date.

Should I go on a date with Drew?

Vote below and make sure to leave any pre-date questions you want me to ask (I’ve learned my lesson from date #2 and my lack of basic ‘getting to know you’ questions.)

Do go! Just make sure you meet in a public place, that someone knows when and where you’re going, and also make sure to ask why he was interested in dating even if he knew (or because he knew) he was going to be featured in your blog…

I say go. What do you have to loose? It’s obvious he reads your blog and knows what he’s in for. If it’s a good date, that’s beautiful. If it’s a bad date, then it’ll make for a great story.

    Have fun.
