50 Fat Dates follows my plus size dating quest to find Big Curvy Love (girlfriend’s in her thirties and looking for a man…don’t judge.) I’ve challenged myself to go on 50 dates over the course of one year and share with you my dating stories, plus size dating tips and lessons learned. If this is your first visit make sure to catch up!~Kelly
As part of my 50 Fat Dates quest I’ve challenged myself to experience ALL kinds of dating. So far I’ve been speed dating, used Tinder, attended dating mixers, and said yes to being asked out by a reader. One thing I haven’t done is be PAID to go on a date. I’ll admit the first thought is “isn’t that the same as being a prostitute?” I’ve wondered that too, but what if there is no sex? 50 Fat Dates is about me finding love and experiencing different dating platforms. Enter: What’s Your Price Dating.com their slogan: “Buy a First Date With Anyone.” There are two types of daters on this site
1. The ‘Generous daters’ on i.e ones willing to pay for a date are mostly men.
2. The ‘Attractive daters’ i.e the ones getting paid for dates are mostly women.
Here’s the official company line on buying/ selling dates:
Can you imagine at the end of the date busting out a credit card reader and asking “cash, credit, or Paypal?” I know I wouldn’t be able to get a Pretty Woman scenario out of my head and hope for the full figured (and financial) fairytale. Here’s how the site suggests you handle the payment issue.
If you like a guy you ‘wink’ at him and can offer a price for him to date you using this form. I’ve sent a few winks but not any prices:
I was wondering if i’d get any offers at all on this site because I’m fat and it seems like guys who want model like chicks. I know it says ‘attractive’ people get paid for dates not ‘attractive slim people’ so I signed up and put a nice pic there. I really did think “should I be the one paying? What if no one wants to date me? Would I actually be willing to pay for a date and what kind of guy would expect that.”
Within 24 hours of my profile being approved I got two rejections and a wink which means I need to make an ‘offer’ aka ‘how much will i charge for a date. The guy who winked at me is 36 and lives in Salt Lake City, Utah (is that the place where they have lots of wives?) All of a sudden this got real and I’m not sure if I can actually sell myself (event to experience a new dating platform.)
How much is a date with me worth? What would you ‘charge’? Comment below and let me know your thoughts on this. What do you think about What’s Your Price? Could you see yourself ever being paid for a date?
